Club Rules

BOOKHAM TENNIS CLUB Limited

1. LTA

Play should be under the rules of the LTA.

2. JUNIORS

Juniors aged between 14 and 18 years, who are of a sufficiently high standard, may join in adult play, at the discretion of the Management Committee.

All juniors should be 5 years of age or above.

3. CLUB SESSIONS

At Club sessions play should be doubles only, and one short set, (i.e. best of 7 games and sudden death on second deuce point), unless numbers are insufficient or all players present agree otherwise.

4. DRESS

Recognised tennis clothing is to be worn at all Club sessions.

Traditional smooth soled tennis shoes or trainers with non-marking soles to be worn at all Club sessions.

5. BEHAVIOUR

The committee reserves the right to review the continuing membership of any member whose conduct and/or discourteous behaviour has been brought to the committee’s attention by other members.

6. TENNIS BALLS

These will be provided for Club Tournaments/Match Play only.

7. KEYS

Members’ keys must be produced on request, as evidence of membership at any time.

Keys must be returned to the Management Committee on the termination of membership

8. PUBLIC SESSIONS

During designated public sessions the general public who have paid for court use have priority over Club members.

9. VISITORS

Members may introduce friends as visitors subject to the following provisions:

a. Members may introduce friends as visitors at times including Club Sessions.

b. Members introducing such visitors must pay the appropriate visitors' fee(s) to the Honorary Treasurer or other director.

c. Visitors’s fees are at such rate as determined from time to time by the Management Committee.

d. Visitors must agree to be bound by the Constitution and Rules of the Club.

e. The Management Committee may give their approval for outside organisations and private individuals to use the facilities of the Club for limited periods. The conditions and payment for use shall be determined by the Management Committee.

10. OBSERVANCE OF RULES

Failure to observe these rules may cause termination of membership.

BOOKHAM TENNIS CLUB LIMITED WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE COURTS BEING USED
